The Family Package
If you’re looking for a fun and exciting vacation to spend with your kids, consider our Family Package, which offers a number of different entertainment options that the whole family can enjoy together. Here are some of the best things to do and places to stay for families at Wisconsin Dells.
Waterparks:
Obviously, the most famous part of Wisconsin Dells is its waterparks. In fact, it’s commonly referred to as the Waterpark Capital of the World. For that reason, you and your family should go to at least two waterparks while you’re in town. Here are some of the top waterparks that we recommend:
If you have ever wanted to try out a waterslide with a loop in it, then head over to Noah’s Ark Waterpark. Featuring the new Scorpion’s Tail slide, along with plenty of other exciting entertainment options, Noah’s Ark is one of the most popular waterparks in the world. It also boasts some of the scariest and most thrilling waterslides in the Dells. However, with numerous kiddie water play areas and relaxing river rides, it will be fun for the whole family to enjoy.
Commonly called ‘Mount O’ by the locals, Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Parks has 37 waterslides, which makes it one of the largest waterparks in the world. However, there are also plenty of go-kart rides, adrenaline-pumping roller coasters, and two wave pools, one of which features massive 9-foot waves. Of course, if you have younger children then there are plenty of kiddie rides and entertainment options for them as well.
However, Wisconsin Dells isn’t just about waterparks anymore. Today, there are a number of different amusement parks that the whole family can enjoy. If you and your family are looking for a more action packed adventure, check out Timber Falls Adventure Park, which offers a number of unique, fast, and thrilling roller coasters.
Or, if you would rather have some low-intensity, relaxing fun away from the waterparks for a change, head to the Kalahari Indoor Theme Park, which has a go-kart track, rock climbing wall, laser tag, and more. Alternatively, if you have younger children with you, then check out Knuckleheads Bowling and Indoor Amusement Park, which has a bowling alley, a 4D theatre, and many other kinds of indoor fun.
Lodging:
There are several lodging options at Wisconsin Dells, each of which has its own pros and cons for families. Many resorts feature extensive indoor waterparks, which means that the fun doesn’t have to stop after you come home from a long day of playing outside. Some of the best family resorts for this are the Chula Vista Resort, the Kalahari Waterpark Resort, or the Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness. However, since most resorts at Wisconsin Dells feature some sort of waterpark, you should easily be able to find fun rides that suit your family’s sense of adventure.
Alternatively, many families choose to stay at Wisconsin Dells cabins, which offer a cozy sense of adventure without losing the amenities and comforts of a modern resort. Some of the best Wisconsin Dells cabins for rent are at the Birchcliff Resort, Kathy’s Kozy Kottages, Meadowbrook Resort, and Thunderbird Resort, all of which have cabins specifically built for families to rent. At Wisconsin Dells, there are few things more peaceful than coming back to your cabin after a long day at the waterpark, only to kick back and relax on your front porch and look out at the beautiful forest, or watch the sun set over a lake. To experience this comfort with you and your family, check out some of the best Wisconsin Dells cabin rentals today.
Entertainment:
There are plenty of things for you and your family to do away from the waterparks. Consider checking out the Wisconsin Deer Park, where you can feed the peaceful creatures out of your own hand. Or, if your family likes horses, then you can go on an exclusive horse-carriage ride with Lost Canyon Tours, or with Red Ridge Ranch Riding Stable.
Do you and your children like magic? If so, check out the Rick Wilcox Magic Theater, which puts on a fantastic nightly show that will dazzle and amaze your entire family. Open year round, the 90 minute performance is one of the highlights of Wisconsin Dells’ family nightlife scene.
Or, if you have older children, then they may just want to shop. For that reason, Wisconsin Dells has a number of fine shopping options for clothes, swimsuits, candy, and much more. Everything from the River’s Edge Bait Shop to the Gnome Depot is there to fill the needs of you and your family.
Meals:
Since the Wisconsin Dells is best known as a vacation destination for families, almost every restaurant in town will cater to the needs of you and your family. However, we recommend Marley’s – A Taste of the Caribbean, for an entertaining and delicious family feast. Alternatively, try out Carvelli’s Pizza and Pasta House, Crabby’s Seafood Buffet, or Damon’s Grill, each of which has menus specifically built for children and families.
Places to see:
If you want to glide around above the woods, then consider checking out the Wilderness Canyon Zipline Canopy Tours, which takes you over such famous landmarks as Lost Canyon, and allows you to experience the natural beauty of the surrounding forests. Or, if you want to cruise high above creeks and rivers, try out BigFoot ZipLine, which offers a similar, but more exhilarating, experience.
You may also want to experience the beautiful rivers around Wisconsin Dells by taking a tour on a river boat or jet boat. Older children will get a thrill out of riding with WildThing Jet Boats or Jet Boat Adventures, which carry passengers at high speeds around the lake. Or, for a more peaceful experience for you and your family, check out the Mid-Continent Railway Museum, or Princess Kay Paddlewheel Riverboat.
