Whether you’re traveling alone or with kids, sometimes the only thing you want to do on a vacation is to relax. While Wisconsin Dells is known for being an action-packed vacation destination, it is also an easy place to relax. Take a look at some of the options below to discover the best ways to relax during your Wisconsin Dells vacation.
Waterparks:
It’s easy to find waterparks that offer high-speed waterslides and adrenaline-pumping roller coasters. However, what if you would rather just lazily cruise down a river, watch a movie, or play mini golf? Fortunately, these waterparks have options that even somebody who is looking for relaxation can enjoy.
At Mount Olympus, you can lazily cruise down one of the never-ending rivers all afternoon, or head into the batting cages to practice your swing. In fact, almost every amusement park in town has low-intensity options that will satisfy those who are looking for the Wisconsin Dells experience without the heart-racing excitement of high-speed roller coasters or waterslides. Arcades, mini-golf, and river rides are all commonly seen at resorts around the Dells.
Wisconsin Dells Resorts
If you’re looking to relax, then a spa is an absolute necessity. At Wisconsin Dells, there are several different spas to suit your tastes. At Sundara Inn and Spa, for example, you can rent an exclusive private villa which overlooks the golf course. After your massage, you can take a swim in the heated outdoor infinity pool.
And, at Chula Vista Resort, golfers can get a similar experience, complete with a unique Couples Massage Flame Experience, where heated essential oils are massaged onto the body. Later, you can relax in the heated pool, or lounge around in the hot tub. Put simply, resorts like this make it their duty to put you into a state of supreme relaxation.
Entertainment:
If you’re a golfer, then Wisconsin Dells offers a number of premier courses to suit your tastes. At Wild Rock Golf Club, which was voted one of the top 10 new courses for 2008 by several different golf magazines, the holes are built around a former quarry. Also consider checking out Trappers Turn Golf Club or Cold Water Canyon Golf Course to round out your golf vacation.
If walking around a big golf course doesn’t sound relaxing to you, then you may want to check out Old River & Totem Pole Mini Golf, or Pirates Cove Adventure Golf, each of which offers a fun and relaxing mini golf experience. Whether you’re at the Dells with your kids or as a couple, these places will give you a relaxing vacation that is worth remembering.
As adults, if you want to relax around a casino at night, then head over to Wisconsin Dells’ Ho-Chunk Gaming, which offers visitors Black Jack tables, bingo, and many more. If you have kids with you, then the casino even has an arcade for their entertainment. This is one of the best places to relax after a busy day at the waterparks in the Dells.
Meals:
If your goal is to relax on your Wisconsin Dells resorts vacation, then you may not want to dress up for any fine dining options. For that reason, here are some of the more casual places to eat and relax at Wisconsin Dells. For a more intimate casual dining experience, try out the Copper Oak Steak House, which offers diners an experience that is tough to beat in terms of both quality and price.
Or, if you’re a seafood fan, head over to Crabby’s Seafood Buffet, which has delicious menu options at an affordable price. Other popular local restaurants, like Marley’s and Uno Chicago Grill, will also help you relax with high-quality, affordable food.
Places to see:
The raw, natural beauty of the Wisconsin Dells makes it a great place to take a wilderness tour. If you want to sit back, relax, and watch nature pass by around you, then consider heading out on Lost Canyon Tours’ horse carriage rides. Or, take a gentle cruise around the lake with Princess Kay Paddlewheel Riverboat, or Dells Boat Tours.
If you’ve had your fill of water for the day, then you may also want to check out some of the local train rides, like the Mid-Continent Railway Museum or the River and Great Northern Railway, each of which gives you a glimpse into the rich history of Wisconsin Dells.
